Registration

Registration is still open through June 15, 2025! Online registration has closed, but returning swimmers can register IN PERSON at the Glenmont pool during one of the practice times. Please note that this year it is a two-step process (Montgomery County first, then Swimtopia).

Tryouts

Swimmers new to the team: if you missed regularly scheduled tryouts, you must contact Coach Patrick at patrick.detzner@gmail.com to schedule an evaluation prior to June 12.

The Glenmont Gators are a Montgomery County Recreation summer swim team, part of the Montgomery County Swim League since 1982.

Practices (and several meets) are held at the Sergeant Hector I. Ayala Wheaton-Glenmont Outdoor Pool on 12621 Dalewood Dr, Silver Spring, MD 20906

Head Coach: PATRICK DETZNER

Bio

Coach Patrick Detzner is a familiar face in the Montgomery County swimming community, having coached swim teams and taught lessons for the MCRD for many years. In the summer of 2023, Coach Patrick accepted the role as a coach for the Glenmont Gators, a position that has since evolved into him becoming the Head Coach of the team in 2024. With a rich background in competitive swimming, including 10 years at Long Branch and 4 years at Blair High School, as well as training with the National Training Group at RMSC, Coach Patrick brings a wealth of personal experience and expertise to his coaching role.
